Notes

Haddad Riverfront Park

Sunny Day at the Capitol, bunch of Cousins young and old. We played in the evening sun to a great crowd. There were a bunch of little kids dancin' to
Up to You-Good Calypso. D and the Band had fun interacting with the new
Rasta Rafiki fans. Great sound. All and all, a good solid Rasta Rafiki Set.

The Sound Factory

While the Haddad Park gig went great, this show is the direct
opposite of that show. Dave Lloyds keyboard broke before the
second show, but that wasn't the worst of it. the sound system
was completely messed up.
But, as the feedback squeeled, Rafiki was determined to put
on a good show, and they did just that. After readjusting the EQ's
and such, the show came off very good, everybody was dancin'
and having a good time to the Rasta Rafiki groove.
A little insight into running the P.A. system for Rasta Rafiki:
We rarely if ever have what you call a soundcheck, instead, we
do line checks, which is to make sure that all the mic's are working,
and that's it. We take off and I adjust on the fly.
It usually takes only a song or two to get it up and running, even on
this night, by the middle of "New One" things were looking up. By the
end of the night people forgot how it started.
Also, there was no where to plug in the cd burner, I had to use the
headphone jack so you can hear when I PFL, only during the first
songs. I got some GD boots where the sound sucks for the first few
songs, and I'm sure you do too
Besides, as someone else put it, once we're done with it you can have it.

Rasta Rafiki:

Derrick "D" McDonald: Vocals, Trumpet, Congas, Peace Pipe
